Register Today for the
National Angus Convention

The American Angus Association hosts a must-attend event Nov. 3-5.

Registration is now open for the 2015 Angus Means Business National Convention & Trade Show scheduled for Nov. 3-5 in Overland Park, Kan. Visit the convention website, www.angusconvention.com, to reserve your place today and make hotel reservations for the three-day event.

During the National Angus Convention, Angus breeders and commercial cattlemen are invited to learn from world-class speakers and educational seminars, network during the Angus Media Trade Show, and enjoy social events and entertainment with fellow cattle producers from throughout the country. At last year’s inaugural event, nearly 2,000 participants attended the conference in Kansas City, Mo.

This year, highlights include the International Angus Genomics Symposium, sponsored by Neogen’s GeneSeek Operations, during which keynote speaker and genetics pioneer Richard Resnick will discuss the evolving progress of genomic technology. Angus University, sponsored by Merck Animal Health, will follow “A Story of a Steak” and share insights on increasing quality in the nation’s beef production chain. Country singer Sammy Kershaw will entertain the crowd Wednesday, Nov. 4.

“We are incredibly proud of the slate of education and entertainment available at the 2015 National Angus Convention,” says Becky Weishaar, Creative Media director and lead contact for the event. “As registration goes live, we invite cattlemen to plan early to book their attendance and hotel accommodations. It’s all available on the convention website.”

On Tuesday, Nov. 3, one lucky participant in attendance will win a Cat® 262D Skid Steer Loader, donated by Caterpillar. The company is one of more than 125 trade show exhibitors that will be in attendance. Animal health companies, publications, feed and nutrition, and equipment manufacturers are just a few of the services to be represented in the Angus Media Trade Show.

The Kansas Angus Association is also hosting a preconvention tour of area Angus farms and ranches Monday, Nov. 2. The tour will make three stops: Mill Brae Ranch, Maple Hill, Kan.; May-Way Farms Inc., Baldwin City, Kan.; and Chair Rock, Greeley, Kan. An additional $75 registration fee applies for the Kansas tour, and attendees can reserve their spot when registering for the convention.

Go online to www.angusconvention.com to access a convention schedule, trade show map and more information on travel arrangements to Overland Park, Kan. The 2015 housing block features a variety of price points and amenities.

Delegates elected to represent their state during the Association’s Annual Convention may attend the Association business meetings for free; however, participation in convention education, meals, entertainment and trade show requires a full convention registration. If you register prior to Oct. 2, the cost is $75 per person. Any registrations made after that date will be on-site at the Overland Park Convention Center and at an increased price.
