Known for historic cattle, rail trails, the American Royal, world-class barbecue and, most recently, the reigning Super Bowl Champions, Kansas City will host the 2020 Angus Convention this fall. The American Angus Association invites the cattle industry to “Elevate Your Game” at the 2020 Angus Convention, Nov. 6-9, at the Kansas City Convention Center.

The American Angus Association launched the new combined value dollar value index ($Value) May 29, 2020. $C is an economic selection index that aims to characterize profitability differences across the entire chain by combining the two underlying breeding objectives that drive the American Angus Association’s maternal and terminal economic indexes.

Vest Ranches Wins 2020 BIF Commercial Producer Award

The Angus-Charolais operation receives prestigious award June 8 during the annual conference.

Hard work and humility have been defining traits of the Vest family since Bill Vest ventured out to West Texas in 1887, and it took every ounce of hard work and humility to homestead and manage cattle in the rough country of that part of the world. The hard work of more than a century paid off when Vest Ranches was selected as the 2020 Beef Improvement Federation Commercial Producer of the Year. Nominated by the American Angus Association and the American-International Charolais Association, Vest Ranches received the award virtually during the BIF conference June 8, 2020.

Angus Welcomes 2020 Interns

Six students from across the nation will gain industry experience and insight.

The American Angus Association continuously works to provide young people with opportunities for learning and success. Through its internship program, the Association allows students to explore their interests while developing the knowledge, skills and network to aid them in pursuing future careers. This summer, interns will join multiple departments and entities of the Association, including Angus Media and Angus Genetics Inc.
