Versatile new five-speed clipper
Andis Co. has introduced the Excel™ five-speed, detachable blade clipper, equipped with a 4 ✕ 4 blade drive and a maintenance-free rotary motor. Lower speeds are ideal for sensitive areas and higher speeds deliver a smooth, uniform finish for the body coat.
The new clipper is contoured to fit comfortably in the hand and has a detachable blade that allows easy blade changes for clipping, trimming and cleaning.
The company's patent-pending CeramicEdge blades are equipped with a certified zirconium oxide ceramic cutter. Using this new ceramic material for the upper blade keeps the blade up to 75% cooler than conventional steel cutters, since it's the upper blade that usually causes heat because of the friction of metal rubbing metal.

Yield data recording and mapping
Trimble AgGPS® can provide yield monitoring and map yield data capabilities for combines equipped with the device with an integrated display that steers the combine using an AgGPS Autopilot™ automated steering system or an AgGPS E-Z Steer® assisted steering system.
Farmers can use the recorded yield data to analyze performance and create variable rate prescription maps using the company's AgGPS E-Z Office™ software. The yield data can be stored on the FmX display and then transferred to the office using a USB storage device.
The yield monitoring functionality allows growers to perform accurate area calculations using the auto cut width feature when the header is not full. This is an advantage for harvesting odd-shaped fields, point rows or areas already harvested. It relieves the farmer from having to manually adjust actual cut width when not harvesting a full swath.

Michelin tires now available
for John Deere tractors, other brands
John Deere customers can now opt to equip their new 7030 Series large-frame tractors, 8R Series and 9030 Series tractors with Michelin Axiobib® radials featuring Ultraflex™ technology as a factory-installed option.
Because today's high-horsepower tractors pack more performance and productivity into their frames, they also pack more weight, which can be problematic for growers concerned about soil compaction. The new Michelin tires can operate at inflation pressures as much as 20% lower than standard radials, or carry up to 20% more load at the same inflation pressures as standard radials, according to the release.
The new tire is also available as a factory-installed option on Agco brand, Case IH, Challenger, Massey Ferguson and New Holland high-horsepower tractors. It is also available in the replacement market through Michelin Agricultural tire dealers.

New front-mount plows for ATVs
Agri-Cover Inc. announces the release of the SnowSport® All-Terrain Plow, which includes three all-new easy-to-install front mounts for vehicle models 2009-2010 Arctic Cat 550 H1 and TRV (part number 60060); 2009 Can-Am Outlander 400 (part number 60410); and the 2008-2010 Polaris Ranger RZR and RZR-S UTV (part number 60044).

UHF RFID tag approved for use with 840 AIN
Eriginate Corp. has announced the approval of its eTattoo™ tag by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The approval marks the first ultra-high radio frequency identification tag (UHF RFID) and the first non-low frequency tag (LF) to be approved for use with the 840 animal identification number (AIN).
The tag allows users to collect data from individual animals housed in large pens or across groups of pens in a fraction of a second, even while animals are moving. The read range is optimized to allow producers to collect data from either the front or back of the animal at a distance of up to 25 ft. using a fixed reader or up to 15 ft. using a handheld device.
The panel-style tag incorporates both visual and electronic identification (eID), enabling management information to be printed on the tag and alleviating the need for separate visual and RFID tags. The tag is compatible with all ISO 18000-6C/EPCglobal Gen 2 readers and equipment.
