New Products

Company adds vaccines, sizes

AgriLabs has acquired the exclusive sales, marketing and distribution rights for the Pulmo-Guard family of Pasteurella cattle vaccines (one-dose Pulmo-Guard PHM-1, Pulmo-Guard PH-M and the combination Express 5-PHM) previously sold by Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica Inc. (BIVI).

AgriLabs also announced that estroPlan is now available in a 100-ml (50-dose) size, in addition to the 20-milliliter (mL) (5-dose) size. Veterinarians may order estroPlan from their animal health distributor.

Multispecies colostrum replacement

AgriLabs has announced the launch of Colostrx® Multi Species for use in foals, puppies, kittens, kids, lambs, fawns, alpacas, llamas and calves. Because colostrum is high in energy, protein, vitamins and minerals and is a critical source of immunoglobulin required in the first few hours after birth, failure of passive transfer (FPT) can occur if maternal colostrum is poor in quality; insufficient in quantity; contaminated; unavailable; or fed too late.

With a guaranteed level of 20 grams (g) of globulin protein per bag, the replacement colostrum is designed to meet the needs of multiple species of newborns, and is available from AgriLabs distributors and their dealers.

Federal registration approval for herbicide

DuPont Pastora™ herbicide has been granted U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approval for selective control of problem broadleaf and grass weeds with no grazing restrictions.

The herbicide provides postemergence control of field sandbur and johnsongrass, which reduce quality and profitability of commercial hay production in Bermuda-grass pastures and hay meadows. It can also deliver long-lasting postemergence control of broadleaf weeds, including common broomweed, buttercup and musk thistle. In field trials, Pastora controlled more than 25 grass weeds and 100 broadleaf weeds.

Convert PAR 36 incandescent lamps to LED

Trilliant 36 LED Whitelight Conversion BulbGrote Industries has introduced the Trilliant 36 LED WhiteLight Conversion Bulb that turns any PAR 36 incandescent lamp into an LED WhiteLight Lamp. The new bulb snaps into any standard PAR 36 housing and has two versatile terminals designed to accommodate either a screw or a FastOn cable connection.

The conversion bulb is rated for a service life of 40,000 hours (compared to the rated life span of 25 to 500 hours for an incandescent bulb), uses just one-half the power and comes in a wide flood beam pattern and in the company's new TractorPlus beam pattern that has its own mounting bracket included. In certified tests conducted by the company, both beam patterns delivered almost three times more usable light compared to traditional PAR 36 bulbs.

Demonstration of Trilliant 36 LED WhitelightAll of the new bulbs are manufactured with UV, hard-coated, polycarbonate lenses that can be replaced if damaged. The lenses are easily interchanged, and conversion from a wide flood to a TractorPlus lens can be accomplished within moments.

New compact tractors

Massey Ferguson has added the 1529 and 1532 compact tractors with three-range hydrostatic transmissions to its 1500 Series line for 2010.

Three-range hydrostatic transmissions offer the combination of easy operation and precise control of ground speeds. Speed control is further simplified with separate forward and reverse foot pedals on a redesigned and uncluttered platform. Cruise control and a joystick are standard.

The compact tractors are powered by a Tier 4 interim-emission-compliant Iseki three-cylinder liquid-cooled diesel engine. An electric-hydraulic independent power take-off (PTO) and Category I three-point hitch make operating implements such as a tiller, rotary cutter, finish mower and others a simple task.

For operator comfort, tilt steering makes room for a wide entry and exit area, while a new molded rubber floor mat provides traction and helps reduce vibration that could be transferred to the operator. An easy-to-read instrument panel helps keep the operator informed of the tractor's performance.

For more information visit a local Massey Ferguson dealer or www.masseyferguson.com.

Turbocharged utility tractor

Massey Ferguson has announced the expansion of its 2600 Series utility tractor line to include a turbocharged model — the MF2635 — with 74 gross engine horsepower.

Designed for landscape contractors or the many chores of a small farm, the 2635 is powered by a Tier III emissions-compliant direct-injection Simpson® four-cylinder turbocharged diesel.

Massey Ferguson MF2635 utility tractorThe optional 8x8 SynchroShuttle transmission with independent PTO gives operators added convenience by allowing the tractor to shift gears on the roll and change direction without having to come to a complete stop to shift.

Daily service items, such as checking the engine oil level, can be completed without lifting the hood. For other maintenance requirements, a single-piece steel hood can be opened widely for easy access. Other new features include an elevated semi-flat platform with a large plastic fuel tank underneath that can be easily filled from the ground level, and an adjustable suspended seat and easy-to-reach controls.

Tripod-mounted, explosion-proof metal halide light

Larson Electonics' magnalight.com has announced the addition of several new explosion-proof metal halide lights for portable use in hazardous location areas. The new additions include a quadpod mounted 400-watt metal halide Class 1 Division 1 light and the dual fixture Class 1 Division 1 70-watt metal halide lights on a wheeled tripod.

Because the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires the use of explosion-proof lighting in confined spaces and other areas where there is a continuous presence of flammable vapors, Underwriter's Laboratories (UL) certifies light fixtures as Class 1 Division 1 that are appropriate for these types of hazardous locations.

These lights are designed to be long-life, highly durable, portable explosion-proof lights. With minimal maintenance, the lights will last for 20 years, according to the company.
