• Beef Leaders Institute Encourages Angus Producers (June 15) — Twenty select Angus producers from 12 states, gathered in Saint Joseph, Mo., June 1-4 to attend the third annual Beef Leader’s Institute.
• Applied Repro Strategies Conference Scheduled (June 14) — The Beef Cattle Reproduction Task Force will offer the Applied Reproductive Strategies in Beef Cattle Conference Aug. 6 and 7 in Nashville, Tenn.
• Southern Angus Pride on Tour in Virginia (June 7) — Sign up deadline nears for Virginia Angus Association’s second annual Angus tour.
• Association VP Speaks at Australian Angus Conference (June 4) — American Angus Association vice president Joe Hampton joined other speakers discussing production, marketing and selection tools.
• Angus.org Goes Mobile (June 2) — The Association has introduced a new mobile version of its website for those with web-enabled cell phones.
• Lights, Camera, Junior Show (June 1) — AgDay to cover National Junior Angus Show July 11-17.
• Angus YouTube Channel Tops 200,000 (May 28) — The American Angus Association’s YouTube channel has achieved its second significant milestone since its creation less than two years ago — 200,000 views.
• Cattlemen’s Boot Camp Set for North Carolina (May 28) — Sign up by July 20 to attend the educational event in Raleigh.
• American Angus Association Now on Twitter (May 27) — The American Angus Association continues to expand its social media presence; the organization joined Twitter.
• Support the 2010 NJAS (May 25) — Colorado, Kansas and Nebraska Angus associations are accepting donations.
• Annual LEAD Conference will be in Nashville (May 19) — “Angus: Live and Loud” is the theme for the 2010 Leaders Engaged in Angus Development (LEAD) Conference, set for Aug. 5-8 in Nashville, Tenn., and designed for members age 14-21.

• Nemaha Valley Angus partners with CAB (June 3) — A northeast Kansas diversified farm became the first in that corner of the state to license with Certified Angus Beef LLC (CAB) in the Feedlot Licensing Program (FLP).
• Stockers set up beef quality (May 18) — A sandwich relies on what’s between the bread slices; a great book must be compelling from cover to cover, and likewise the cattle industry often counts on the stocker phase to ensure cattle quality while moving them from ranch to feedlot.
• Threshold to profit (May 17) — A price breakeven calculators put quality into the equation for educated decisions.
